It produces a narrow Particle Size Distribution (PSD) with minimal dust, ensuring optimal feed quality for downstream granulation or blending.
Material enters between two counter-rotating rolls—one fixed, one adjustable. Low-speed rotation (50-200 RPM) generates compression and shear forces that crush fertilizer lumps into uniform particles. The roll gap can be adjusted from 0.5 mm to 10 mm while running, and spring-loaded scrapers continuously clean the roll surfaces to prevent sticky buildup. If an uncrushable object enters, the moveable roll automatically retracts to avoid damage, then resets.
We use a combination of precision-ground SS304/316L rolls and spring-loaded scrapers. The smooth surface reduces friction, and the scrapers continuously "shave off" any micro-buildup, maintaining a constant gap.
